In the account of the parable of the lost sheep in Matthews biography of Jesus, we see a stunning example of how very much God loves you--and loves me. Before we surrender to Jesus we are like lost sheep. And Jesus is the Shepherd who goes out of His way to find the lost sheep. Read that story here.
John`s biography of Jesus provides a beautiful quote from Jesus confirming His love for His disciples, and for those of us who choose to become His disciples by following Him: "". . . love one another, even as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant doesn`t know what his lord does. But I have called you friends, for everything that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you"" (John 15: 12 - 14).
A good way to sense that Jesus loves you is to read what He has made known to us in His Word, the Bible.
For those who surrender to Jesus and listen to the things He says in His word, He calls you a friend: "No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you" (John 15:15).
