Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
Jesus revealed the mysterious secrets about himself to his disciples, but even they failed to comprehend the nature of his mission. He came to give his life as a ransom for many, which include you and me. Mark 10:45 says; "For even I, the son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others, and to give my life as a ransom for many" This verse reveals not only the motive for Jesus' ministry, but also the basis for our salvation. A ransom was the price paid to release a slave. Jesus paid a ransom for us because we could not pay it ourselves. His death released all of us from our slavery to sin. The disciples thought Jesus' life and power would save them from Rome; Jesus said his death would save them from sin, an even greater slavery than Rome's.

This is because he was to pay the price of any kind of sin, that is sin of the spirit and the sins of the body. There was more than spiritual separation  beacuse man kind does not only separate from God spiritually but even physicaly. Some of the sins we commit are against God (who is spirit) and self(who is physical). This is evidenced by Pauls letter to the corinthians. this is why Jesus had to pay for both too.

I truly believe this was God's signal to us. Showing us what one sacred man endured for us. Showing us all the pain and suffering he went through just for us. Showing us just how much he would go through, and the depths he would go through just for us his children.

If God had just, predicted a Spiritual Separation from him to us, we would have never learned. Have you ever heard the saying, 'You'll learn the hard way'. God taut us the hard and brutal way for us to learn.

Think about it, if Jesus never endured any pain at all, and was just separated from God for our sins. Do you think many of us would be greatful, and where we are today? My answer is NO. Because as we all know, and we are all guilty of, we need to see or hear for us to truly believe.

God has plans. Plans for us all. And pain and suffering isnt one of them because Jesus gave all that for us. What he went through, may have been torture to the 1st degree, may have been painful in all ways, but thats the way God intended.

jesus death had had to include torture of physical and emotional pains because he was about to do what has never being done before. and for d fact that d devil is not happy about the decision of jesus to die for the whole world, this is the reason why he had to suffer d pains.

more so, to be seperated is painful. is just like being rejected by d only one who could save.

so the emotional and physical pain include the torture, rejection and sin of the whole world.

physical pain and emotional pains reflected God's stern stands against 'physical and emotional pleasures -- sin' Jesus took these pains so as to reconcile men back to God!

There is no way that Jesus would hav incited His own death considering His character. He is a man of absolute truth. His consitacy in His conduct displays that Consider for example the parables on blind men They were not for fame but meant to open the people's eyes to Godly things He was unlike the pharises Also de healing of at getsemane when the man's ear was cut Thus the cleansing of the temple and accusation of the religious leaders were all in line with His teaching, mission and character He merely doing His job Cleaning God's temple which is the hearts of all religious people who have turned God's word into vein By so doing He played onto the hands of those who saw they losing popularity and material gain through His teachings hence the high desire to get reed of the king of kings Jesus' mission was about God's kingdom not in the political kingship and ownership It angered the religious leader that Jesus was not of their camp yet He was prophecied to be
