it is intriqueing that Jesus demonstraded the love because jesus exhibited good displaced of love towards mankind. And secondly i know that jesus came and preached the gospel of the good news to mankind and introduced man to eternal life which jesus sacrifice himself because of us man jesus took the infirmities and calamities unto himself brought victory of righteousness in the ministry of reconciliation. And finally the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has brought man abundant life which is in the father God and such as joy , peace , prosperity and and spiritual blessing praise God .

He brought the good news of the kingdom by setting the captives free

Becoming a sacrifice by Offering himself as a rasom for our sins .

becoming a source of eternal life.Infact he is the resurrection and the life.In him is abundant life for our body , souls and spirit.

How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him?" a "New" commandment?
Jesus is telling us that intimacy with Him goes hand in hand with obedience to His Words.  Intimacy with God is loving Him wholeheartedly and  keeping His commandments and applying His Words in our daily living.  He wants us to have a personal relationship with Him thru our constant communication to Him via prayer and reading His Word.

If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss?
I would ask Him how's my parents doing & what should I do next that may please Him.  I'll just listen to whatever He would tell me, may it be story, parable, His life in heaven and what He wants us to do or to focus on.

According to me, it is all about us  loving him with all our hearts and obeying all his commandments, which can  create intimacy to him.

Imagine some one  who can accept an forgive in several circumstances,accepts  requests from every one ,in fact if was a human being staying with us on the earth,there could reach a time when ha could get tired,in the sense that so many people as for many different needs,but he can cater for every ones request.

New Command - Love one Another!
Jesus, probably called it a new commandment because prior to this he had said Love your neighbour as yourself. In our eyes we may just love those who lives near to us or ar in close contact with us daily. By demolishing the boundary of "your neighbour", it now says love "everyone" - those near, far, seen, unseen and at the same time love without conditions!

Intimacy and Obedience to God!
Love is the centre of intimacy and obedience. When you truly and wholeheartedly loves a person and in this case God, you will be obedient to His will and strive for intimacy no matter what the cost - reading your bible every opportunity you get and praying as Paul says, without ceasing. It is through continuous contact with God that we become intimate with him.
