Our sins can only be washed by the blood of jesus shed at callvary.Jesus felt he has borne the penalty for the evils of mankind. This relates to jesus earlier mission statement to sacrifice himself for others.

our sin can only be washed by the blood of Jesus shed at callvary, we did not need anybody to talk to Jesus on our behalf.

Jesus felt He had borne the penalty for the evils of mankind, He had to declare his mission as accomplished.  Matt.20:28, Jesus came into the world to serve sinners and to give his life as a ransome for sinners.

Isaiah 53 is a wonderful prophesy about the Messiah. There would be no redemtion without Jesus shedding his blood. we are healed through His stripes. The blood that was shed on calvary's tree is all our hope of having our sins washed...or forgiven. Several instances in the Bible attest to this. In the aerthly sanctuary we had to bring an animal to be killed so our sins would be atoned for. The day Jesus died on the cross those animal sacrifices ended ...in fact He himself declared "It is finishd'! He was the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world" and that sacrifice...His voluntary death on the cross was enough we neded no animal blood. So the curtain dividing the Holy of hte Holies andnn the Holy plcae was rent into two signifying we did not need anybody to talk to Jesus on our behalf..we can go straight to Him in faith and He wil forgive our sins on account of the blood He shed...but we must believe!

From Adam and Eve. When they had sinned and found out theywere naked, they sewed fig leaves and covered hemselves...and hisi from God. Dont we still hide our sins? How long would the fig leaves take before they dried up? they would need more gif leaves!!! So in His love and mercy God covers their nakedness with the skin of an animal? Guess which animal that was? Blood animal was to die andn blood shed in order to get the skin Gd used to make them a more permanent cover. Abraham and His son Isaac...God asks for a sacrifice and Abraham in his unbelievable trust in God sets ona journey with Isaac, lays him on the alter and just before killing Him, a voice reassures Him and shown him a sacrificial animal. Guess what animal it  was. So the animal dies instead of isaac! Amen!!

Many years late Jesus is referred to as "The lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world"  by John th Baptist at the Jordan where he baptized Jesus.

Satan had tried on so many osscasions right from Jesus birth. He knew what Jesus wanted on thisi earth...to redeem his own from  the devil. And the devil knew that Jesus could do this through voluntary death on the cross. So the devil tried to kill Him or cause Him so much pain that would make Jesus sin or tempt Him. But Jesus knew that for Him to redeem man He had to travel that road to Golgotha and lay down His life, therby fulfiling prophecy and redeeming us from the devils grip. No other way except the way of the cross. claimed. for me this is the best thing that ever happened to me! Jesus death on the cross, burial resurrection and the fact that Hes now interceeding for me in front of the father as the devil accusses me every day.

Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

Our sin can only be washed by the bloood of Jesusu shed at calvary. The physical pain the devil inflicted  on Jesus was in an effort to make Jesus sin and denounce His father. IF Jesus had sinned in any way the devil would have won, BUT Christ's death and suffering had been prophesied long time ago (Isaiah 53) and so had to happen. Jesus was the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. REmember how Adam and eve after sinning hid from God because they were naked? Theyhad sewn leaeves to cover themselves? How long would the leaves last before drying up? So God in His abundant love and mercy covered them with the skin of an animal? which animal do you think God killed so that Adam and eves nakedness would be covered? God still coveres our nakedness if we believe in Jesus  sacrifice on the cross. John the baptist at the Jordan points to Jesus and tells people to behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Back again to Abraham and Isaac his only son. God asks him to sacrifice his son and off he goes...and instead of Isaac dying what do we see, a lamb to die in the  place of Issac.

So without Jesus death on calvary and shdding of His blood we would be lost foreve. The Devil inflicted so much pain on our Lod, like he continues to do today. Jesus was both man and God...His goal was calvary and only tere would he redeem man not any other death. We must keep our eyes on jesus and know that there is no other way we can have white garments unless washed in His calvary's blood. Spiritual separation from God was as a result of our sin

Jesus cries out at a moment in time when he is not just physically punished, but spiritually separated from God and God separates himself from jesus because of the evil of mankind so that we wont suffer from spiritual separation from God and jesus was ready to sacrifice himself for our sins and jesus came not to be served.but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many and therefore jesus was able to continue to live in paradise and he jesus can choose who will be there with him.

Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

Amongst the weapons that the devil uses to weaken, afflict or dampen the spirit of man to fall or sin to be seperated from God are, physical and emotional pain. The devil tried this out clearly in the case of Job. Thank God for the Grace over Job's life and his decision, that he stood firm to the Glory of God.

Right from the Garden of Eden, the plan of God for man to be free, especially in decisions making and this is still the case today.

God's counsel for man is to choose His ways, but man is allowed to choose whom to serve vountarily. Job chose God, Joshua chose God.. I choose God.

This choice is not linked to how one feels, the prevailing conditions, the state of events  or all such things like physical or emotional pain to name it. Such decision must come from the heart and natural without any compulsion.

The coming of Christ in human form is to teach man that God exists and that God is pleased with those who believe that He exists and that He is a Rewarder.Heb 11:6,  this is special to those who seek Him deligently.

His coming was to encourage mankind that, even without seeing Him, God is present and His presence goes with us.. when we pass through fire, the fire will not burn us,..even through deep waters the water will not overwhelm us, not to talk of experiecing physical and emotional pain.

Jesus neded to include physical and emotional pain, to deliver us from such weaknesses or afflictions that brought about the sin in the first place, before the sin itself that caused the seperation.

He started by taking that part upon Himslf so as to nail all on the cross. It was necessary for Him to treat the matter from the roots. He wanted to know that we in human form can serve God and stand firm to the end, even through physical and emotional pain.

Mankind should now live the ways of God in confidence. deciding on the things of God, not moved by whatever strategies or afflictions of the devil,  believing and trusting in the redemptive love of God, the victory over sin, pain and death, and saved for eternity, to the Glory of God.

Jesus has conquerred satan in all forms as the second Adam.To God be the Glory.

Why did Jesus penalty for sin need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

Jesus 'penalty for sins' need to include physical and emotional pain because God sent Him to us in human form. Jesus had to suffer the same way an ordinary human being has to suffer when crucified on the cross.

Jesus had come to serve not to be served. He had to suffer humiliation and rejection from the people he had loved.  He did great things like healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, making the lame walk, etc. but the people still did not believe Him.

I think that Jesus had to suffer in the hands of His people and had to die on the cross, be buried and be resurrected on the third day so that His people will believe that He was really the Son of God that was sent to save the world from eternal damnation.

When I'm in the state of pain and discouragement, I always remember of how Jesus suffered on the cross and died for our sins.  I always compare the pain I felt and the pain Jesus felt on the way to calvary.  That way I realized that my pain was too small compared of Jesus' pain. It always gave me strenght and joy by remembering Jesus on the cross.
