"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
No, Jesus knew what would happen even before he came down from heaven to show the way. He was doing the will of His Father in heaven getting the attention of the Jewish leaders of His time, but they were blinded by their own lust for blood because they could not believe that Jesus was the Son of God; because He did not match what the prophets of the Old Testament was descriping at least in their eyes.

No, Jesus was not trying to incite His death, He was preparing the people of what was coming. He knew the reason for Him to come on earth, was to give His life so that the rest of us be saved.

Jesus knew what was going to happen and he was just preparing them for what was to come. He stood up for what he believed and he would pay any price for that.He died so that we could have forgiveness, because we are all sinners.

I believe that though he was not trying to incite his death what he was trying by pre predicting his death at Jerusalem.

No, He knew it would happen regardless of what he would say. It was what he came here for. He had to die to save us all, when we ask him into our hearts.
