"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)

No he was not trying to incite his death, everything had already been foretold, his death was the absolute surrender to the will of God for the redemption of man.

Jesus could not incite His death because it was pre-determined and it had already been prophecied that He would die for the redemption of our sins. His death is the reason why we are called children of God today.

Jesus did not provoke any about his death,in fact when he was praying at the Garden of Gethsemane , he tried to request God to pass the cup of sin from him because in his human capacity he cant take such dirty evils inside the cup and he doesn't deserve to take it but christ was so obedient to the will of God till his point of death. The death of Christ was already foretold along time ago.
