Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
it had to include physical pain so that man could try to understand how painful Jesus felt and also to be able to become remorseful to the extect of recognizing Christs' Greatness

Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

To fulfill prophecy in the old testament.

Jesus took on the sins of the whole world(mankind) And that included sickness, disease, torture and all kinds of pain we cannot possibly imagine with our finite thought process.

Most of all, Jesus suffered spiritual seperation from God. He did all of this so those who believe in him would not have to suffer what we most assuredly deserve.

All who believe and trust in Jesus have acess to our heavenly father. how great is that!

Man was physically sining and therefore jesus had to suffer as someone who had act against the law in accordance with the prophecy.

"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
absolutely not! Jesus came to absorb all our sins, past, present and future. Our lord came to give us the opportunity to be born again of the Spirit, a free gift from God our heavenly father. Jesus was visibly angry with the money changers because they were disrespecting his and our heavenly father's house of worship.

"According to Jesus, what does it mean to be loved by God?"

To be loved by God is to have everlasting life by his side. God loved us so much he gave his only begotten Son to die for our sins so we can have everlasting life with him.

Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?

Yes the lowly people are very valuable to Jesus, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coning to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

"Which of these purposes do you believe Jesus accomplished?"
For me, i believe helping people understand the kingdom of God is the very purpose he had accomplished.Knowing that their is a kingdom aside from the kingdom here on earth (that we thought only exist) is a great factor for us people to readily accept;why Jesus came here on earth, why Jesus sacrificed himself, and what he was doing here on earth. Because understanding that their is that place for us after death, those four(4) others statement of purpose will just follow and all became just one . once people know the kingdom Of God, they themselves will demonstrate God's love , bring good news to others, able to sacrifice themselves for the sake of others and later on believe how one can have an Abundant Life.

No, Jesus was simply doing what He had always done in his ministry, and that is give the opportunity for others to turn from their sins and corruption.  He did not entice his death but rather prophesied about it, and said that it was the reason why he came...it was the culminating point of His ministry and call.  He willingly laid down his life for us...thank you Father and Lord jesus Christ!
