It was to fulfil what was said by the prophet.He chose a virgin way coz He did'nt want any doughtness that Christ was not from above.People could think that Jesus was the son of Joseph.He also wanted to show as that when you are pure good things are born in you that shall last forever and shall be blessings to others.

Why did God choose such a unique way (through a virgin birth) to bring Jesus into the world? Jesus was sinless so the fact that he should be born by sinless virgin Mary was God's plan.

Why do you think Jesus chose to appear to the disciples in this way? I think He really wanted them to be absolutely sure of who He really was - the Son of God who had come down to earth to die for our sins and that He was going back again and would send His Holy Spirit to be with us always.
