How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him? a New commandment?

Jesus says that by obeying his commandments, you indicate that you love him.Anyone who has a friend, would like to know the likes and dislikes of that friend, and after knowing him, he does what is good and helpful for their friendship.In the same way, we have to to be obedient to Jesus, since he is our Master, our teacher, our shepherd and friend.This is a new commandment because in the past the aspect of intimacy with god was not visible, especially in the Old testament where God was feared and sometimes spoke through mediators. A personal relationship of one to one is new.

If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss?

I would just thank him for the many things he has done for me-died on my behalf, for being my advocate, for loving me, for answering my prayers for believing in me and caring for me, and above all for dying for me, and going up to prepare a home for me. I will praise him :for his big , loving heart, for his generosity and because he is so warm and caring, I might rest in his arms and say nothing-because he will understand even when i am speechless.
