How does hardness of heart lead to divorce? How does one avoid having a hard heart?

Being unfaithful to one another, not wanting to accept each other for who they truly are or wanting to change the other person to who one wants the other person to be. Not trying to understand each other. Leaving Jesus and His church totally out of one`s marriage. Not awknowledging God our Father. Not reading the Bible. If we read the Bible daily and go to Church, practice our faith, we can avoid having a hard heart.

Why is it helpful to confront a brother alone first, before involving others in confronting him?

It is better to confront a brother alone first, before involving others to find out what the real problem is. He might have done something wrong out of anger but felt sorry after. So, by confronting him, he might repent and the anger released from him, thus gaining back your friend.

Why did Jesus? penalty for sin need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

Jesus`s physical pain teaches us that the Master Himself suffered so much for the love of us. He gave up His life as a ransom for us . He was punised as a sinner, physically and emotionally to relieve us from death and severe punishment. ''With Jesus paying the penalty for mankind`s sins, sacrifices were no longer necessary, and everyone can enter the presence of God''.
