Why do you think Jesus chose, after he rose, to show Himself first to Mary Magdalene? Because Mary was looking for His body by the tomb where He was placed and couldn't find it and confused and Jesus appeared to her to calm her down.

Why did Jesus use the greeting. "Peace be to you"? Was there special signiificance in this greeting? As Jesus' disciples were scare like the lost sheep after Jesus' crucifixion, Jesus greeted the disciples with "Peace be to you" to calm them down.
