Why did John introduce Jesus as "the Lamb of God"? He was introduced as the Lamb of God because Jesus came down to earth to sacrifice himself for us by taking away the sins of the world

Why did John introduce Jesus as "the Lamb of God"? John introduced Jesus as "the Lamb Of God" because Jesus would be offered to God, as an offering, when time came to fulfilling the scripture.
