Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?

Yes, Jesus believes lowly people are just as valuable as everybody else. He came down to earth for all of humanity, for all who accepts and wants to follow Him. How valuable? Very valuable because they recognize their need for Jesus

Why does Jesus tell the growing crowd that one must be willing to renounce everything, including one`s own life, to be Jesus` follower?

Jesus wants us to leave every thing behind to follow Him for where our treasure is there our hearts are. We have to be able to give ourselves completely to God in order to be able to enter His kingdom.
