Why is this old man Simeon so excited to meet this baby Jesus?

Simeon was excited to meet baby Jesus because God told him that he would not die before to seeing the Christ. Simeon was led, by the Spirit, to Jesus and recognized the baby as the Messiah.

Can you think of examples where Jesus modeled this radical teaching?

One of the best examples that come to mind is when Jesus was hanging on the cross after being ridiculed and tortured, He said "Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing"
