Why did Jesus cry out, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken me?" Note: This is a direct quote from the Jewish Scripture, Psalm 22:1.

Because it was at this moment in time that Jesus felt the full brunt of all humankind's sins (past, present and future). And as Jesus sacrificed Himself He bore the load alone. During this time He felt very alone and not connected to God.

Why is it signficant that Jesus fulfilled what was predicted hundreds of years before? Note: Mark refers to the old Scriptures from the Prophet Isaiah (chapter 53) "He poured out his soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And he bore the sins of many." Isaiah 53 contains many more matches to events in Jesus` life.

So that when Jesus' crucifixition is spoken and written about in later years, the connection could be made with these prophecies and that Jesus really was who He said He was

It is signifiant that Jesus fulfilled what was predicted hundreds of years before because it is God's promise and will and during those hundreds of years God was waiting for His people to turn back to Him. However, it didn't happen so the scriptures had to be fulfilled.
