Jesus took three of his disciples to the top of a mountain to experience dead prophets now alive, and a voice from a cloud saying, "This is my beloved Son, listen to him." If you were one of the disciples, what impact would this experience have on you?

If I were there to experience that I would be frozen at that instance and later I would relate this incidence to every one.

Jesus was commited to sacrifice his own life. What did he mean by the statement, "For who ever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel will save it"?

He was referring to life as a much larger concept than we know the physical life. In order to have life (eternal life) you will have to lose your physical life by death and a commitment to Jesus while living by chosing Him over the physical temptations and attachments of the world.

What is "the Christ"? How is it different than one of the prophets?

Christ is the Son of God or the annointed one. Jesus is the Christ, Son of God, who will save the world from eternal damnation
