I think He did this because He did not want the miracle performed in front of all the villagers

What was Jesus trying to teach the disciples? Note: Jesus left twelve baskets full when he fed the 5000 people on the Israel side (Israel had 12 main regions or tribes).

Jesus is trying to teach his disciples to have true faith. Jesus help me strengthen my faith.

Jesus was commited to sacrifice his own life. What did he mean by the statement, "For who ever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel will save it"?

Whoever confess Jesus is Lord the Son of the Most High God will have eternal life and those who deney Jesus will lose their lives forever.
