Why was the woman`s act so pleasing to Jesus? Because it was expensive ointment and the woman sacrificed it on Jesus, as a symbolic preparation for burial

Why did not the Father let the cup pass and spare Jesus the pain of the crucifiction? Because that was the purpose of our Lord Jesus on earth to drink that cup given by the Father, as Jesus said in His prayer that was what the Father desire and not Jesus'.
