Why does Jesus keep telling the disciples that He is about to die?

For His disciples were still know not what He say to them and meanwhile He was preparing them for His departure from the world.

Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?

Jesus wanted to test and see how committed this young man was to have eternal life. He knew that the young man's heart was in his possessions. To follow Jesus completely, we must not have any idols because they distract us from our main goal and focus - God and His will. We get lost in the idols and depart from God as the Isrealites have time and time done again in the past and human kind will continue to do in the future. God calls for us not to have idols because they make us slaves to them and He wants to set us free.

Why didn`t the disciples want little children to come to Jesus? Why did Jesus allow the little children to come?

I think in that day, children were not valued. They probably thought Jesus was too important and He was in such demand that the children would be a waste of His time. They might have felt that He had more important work to do and that the children would distract Him unnecessarily and being of no use. Jesus allowed the children to come to show that anyone can come to Him and He would not reject even the least of the people. This shows His love for all people, not matter what age or use they may be to Him. That He is open and willing to spend time with everyone; that they are worthy of His time and attention.
