How does hardness of heart lead to divorce? How does one avoid having a hard heart?
Hardness of heart leads to divorce when we are unwilling to forgive, to love each other by action and words - being patient, kind, supportive, graceful, not demand our own way.  It comes when we focus on our own happiness in the relationship rather than a commitment to make the relationship work and seek after our partner's needs to be and feel loved.  It comes from the sinfullness of our nature.  The only way to avoid having a hard heart is to consistently seek God, ask for His help and give us the strength to make this work, to obey God's Words, to continue to grow in Christ's likeness, to continue to die to ourselves, to focus on the other person's needs rather than our own happiness. We have no strength to do this without God's help,so we must pray during the hard times for help and during the good times, remember and be full of thanks because it is God's mercy and grace that gives us the strength to obey Him.

Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?
Because we don't need money in the kingdom of heaven, money is only the earthly thing.

Why is it OK with God to pay the one who worked all day the same amount paid to the one who worked only an hour?
Because God is God and is Lord of lords. He treats everyone the same.
