Why did Jesus choose to obtain the stater from a fish rather than from a more conventional source of money?

I think Jesus did that to prove that He owns all things and knows where everything is; that He doesn't need to earn money like everyone else, but is the source of it.

How can one increase his faith to be the size of a mustard seed? (see also Luke 17:5-19)

I read that what Jesus meant when He referred to a mustard seed, is that a mustard seed is small, a weed of the day that no matter what people did to try to kill it or stop its growth, it kept on growing. That is what our faith needs to be like. That no matter what happens, ie persecution, unanswered prayers, disasters, losses, others' unbelief, that our faith is to continue to grow despite of it. That through it all we trust God that He is good and knows what is best for us; that all things work out for the good of those who are His.
