How does being forgiven increase ones love for God? Note: According to Jesus, God`s forgiveness is motivated by love.

When you know you have done something wrong and yet there is nothing you can do to correct the wrong, you feel indebted and bad for who knows how long. However, if the person forgives you, you feel great joy because you are free from a debt you couldn't pay and are not made to feel bad about it any longer. The greater the wrong and the little you can do about it to correct it, the greater the joy experienced when you are forgiven and free from the debt. Because you no longer feel bad about it and are free for doing nothing, you feel greater love for the person who forgave you because they released you from a situation that you were helpless to do anything or little about.

How did (does) repenting prepare someone for the Kingdom of God?

Repenting prepares someon for the Kingdom of God, as prior to entering the Kingdom of God we need to be cleansed of all sin and become holy, as God can not tolerate sin.

How did Joseph know it was a real angel appearing to him in his dreams, and not just , for example, indigestion?

because an angel has appeared to Joseph, several other times in Joseph's life. When marrying Mary, escaping from Bethleham,etc. Each time the angel was correct, so there was no reason to Joseph to think that this was his imagination, but a sign and communication from God.
