When Jesus said, "it is finished", what did "it" refer to? That is, what was finished? That referred to the will of God was accomplished. That meant Jesus' work on earth was done; the cap He had to drink He drank it.

Why do you think Pilate gave Jesus the title "King of the Jews"? Because Jesus is a Jew, Pilate had learned that Jesus had done a lot of the wonderful things that no one on earth could do and the Jews were (and still is) expecting a Messiah, promised by God to their fore-fathers. Also Pilate's wife told him that she had a strange dream that might affect them so he gave Jesus that title. THE LESSON DO NOT APPEAR ON MY SCREEN< SO I JUST GUESSD.
