Jesus, rebuked the disciples for being fearful. How should they have responsed to the storm?

THey should have responded by having faith and knowing that Jesus would not allow them to be harmed.

Why did Jesus seem to discourage the Scribe and the disciple from following Him? Didn`t He want these two to join Him?

Jesus knew that deep in their hearts that even though they said they would follow, they could not handle what it really meant to be a follower.

Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

God needed to experience the total impact that sin has upon humanity.....physically, emotionally and spiritually.
