Why was it important for Jesus to go through a time of temptation? Jesus was human, and it was important to show us fellow humans, that temptation can be overcome, if you put you trust in God. It also was an indication to satan, that it was no use to tempt Jesus. Satan realized this and left him. THus by being strong and following God's word our temptations will diminish as what we are being tempted by would no longer be important in our lives

How did (does) repenting prepare someone for the Kingdom of God? Repenting is essential to prepare us for the Kingdom of God, because by going through it we must be truly sorry for commiting sins against God and sincerely want not to sin no more. For the Kingdom of God is perfect and does not contain any sinners.
