How is Jesus coming into Galilee like light coming into a dark place? What is there about Jesus teaching that is like light?

Because at that time people there were hopeless and didn't know God and were like living in the darkness so when Jesus entered into Galilee to preach to the people there the Kingdom of heaven just like the cloud uncovered the sun for Jesus our Lord is light that gives us light leading the way to the Father God.

Why was it important for Jesus to go through a time of temptation?

Yes it was important because Jesus was a man and He showed us how to overcome temptation by example. Jesus knew what it was like to be tempted and He remained sinless .Jesus showed us how to overcome temptation by speacking the word of God to the devil.Jesus was both the Son of God and man at the same time.So Jesus knew what it felt like to be tempted as a man.We can do the same thing as Jesus buy obeying the word of God rather then what Satan tells us to do.

How did Joseph know it was a real angel appearing to him in his dreams, and not just , for example, indigestion?

Because he already had ecounters with angels.
