What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you? In this "introductory" portion of the lessons, I learned more about the background of the culture Jesus ministered in. What I find interesting are the parallels between then and now......disparity between classes (and about to get worse with the Big D), paying the rulers (taxes) and the diversity of beliefs and languages. I wonder if we would be able to recognize Jesus if he appeared now to minister to us.

What is the blessing that comes to those who have not seen and yet believe? The eternal life is the blessing that comes to those who have not seen and yet believed that Jesus is the Son of God and He is God in flesh.
