I think at first they would have felt shocked and believed that the body was moved, because at this point they were probably emotional about Jesus' death and forgot about His teachings and the scriptures. Once they had time to absorb this and reflect back on Jesus' life and teachings, I think they would have felt extremely elated and awed.

What type of circumstances are there today that might lead one to be a disciple of Jesus, but in secret, like Joseph of Arimathea? In the circumstances of the Muslim law the muslim people not suppose to become Christian but they do and they kind of become Christians in a secret afriad to be exicuted.
