If the lawyer questioned Jesus about who is my neighbour, than there it shows you that he would pass the man that was hurt. He would be like the Levite and pass the hurt man. You have to have faith and compassion to be like the samaritin and the lawyer had a lot to learn.

Suppose this lawyer, right after questioning Jesus, saw a man half dead in the road. What do you think this lawyer would do? It depends on whether this lawyer has faith in Jesus and believes in Jesus. If he does he would do as Jesus told him after the good Samaritian's parable "Go and do likewise." If he has no faith and does not believe in Jesus he would do the same as the priest and the Levite did in the parabe.
