Jesus considers this woman's desire to please Jesus more important than giving to the poor because Jesus wouldn't be on earth long but the poor would be with us for as long as we live, and what the woman did by anointing Jesus with that expensive oil was to prepare Jesus for His burial.

Why does Jesus consider this woman`s desire to please Jesus more important than giving to the poor? As Jesus said in the reading, the poor would be always there and they could do good things for them at any time. However Jesus in his physical form would not always be there. The women showed great faith in doing this.

What did Jesus imply by saying, "This is my blood of the new coveneant, which is poured out for many."? Consider that the Passover was a Jewish festival that remembered when a plague of death "passed over" the home of those Jewish people who marked their doors with blood from a lamb. Jews remembered this day with a feast of unleavened bread. Jesus said "This is my Blood of the new covenent which is poured over many" this means that his blood will save many people that believe him and take Him as their savior! New covenant came after He died for our sins and that is when the New Testament came to be, it is prophesy and it is written.
