When someone you know in a family starts preaching the gospel they mock you, make fun of you and simply do not believe you! this is what happened to Jesus with his brothers and sisters. Disbelief is having No Faith! disbelief can also be jealousy because this usually happens between borthers and sisters. Why did Jesus challenge the disciples to "give them (5000 people) something to eat" before multiplying the food? Jesus was telling the dsciples that nothing was impossible to God the almighty.

How did Jesus "equip" his disciples for powerful work by taking away their material possessions? He equipped them with the power of the holy spirit without any material posessions because that is what Jesus did when He performed miracles. This is to show humbleness towards God.
