It is not a new commandment and yet it is new because the love he shows us and teaches us is above and beyond our own ability. Jesus is the example of this love, we can only know this love from Him and a relationship with Father and Him. And we can only attain it with the help and power of the Holy Spirit in and through our life...the OT still called us to have this love but the Law shows us our inability to be righteous, holy and ultimately loving as God is... Faith, hope and love defne us in Christ and the greatest of this is love...
