Because the lady thought his mother should be blessed because he was such a good man, but Jesus said if you know the word and keep it then you will be blessed eternally. It doesn't matter who your parents are. We can all be blessed in Heaven if we follow what God has tought through his word. Why did Jesus say "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it."?

Why did Jesus say "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it."? Hearing the word of God is good but keeping them meaning act upon is greater. Faith without works is dead this is the word of the Lord!
