God's own Son, Jesus Christ came into a humble state, not in an important city, not in a rich home, and not Israel was enjoying freedom...He started His ministry when he was about thirty and focued on doing his Father's will and discipling 12 men.

He came to die, to be the sacrifice of forgiveness of sins for all that believe on him and call on him, to lift the curse of death and the slavery yoke of sin. He was brutally tortured, mistreated and shamed in our place for and caused by our sin and unbelief yet he still loved and loves us...

Jesus is our freedom, our salvation and our sacrifice, God the Father manifested his love and His nature and Attributes through his only Son Jesus Christ. Jesus alone is the only who defeated death walked out of the grave and ascended to be on the throne next to the Father.  His Church still remains and His Spirit and Holy Spirit is with His believers to this day.  

The roman empire was one of the enemy, yet they were conquered by His Spirit and recognized the Kingship and Divine nature and this empire recognized and turned to the only true God and made it the official empire religion, though Christians were called people of the way, it is a way of life more then an institutionalized religion.
