Both faithful and to a less extent faithless which need to have more faith.

Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

Because we could not save ourselves.We are no different than Adam & Eve,thouh he gave us the choice to choose,we continue to chose what does not honor our creator,he made us for himself,and we prefer to go hoaring around seeking other Gods,Gods that can do nothing for us.Christ demonstrated the love of the Father in eveything that he did andhe so desparately want us to follo whis example.May we today do as John"Decrease so that Christ"can increase I find it amazing that he would even give us a second though and yet we were on his mind,when he said"It is Finished"what an awesome God we serve!

Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

By paying the price for our sin, he had to die and suffer in flesh for us to believe that he loves and cares for us. We cannot doubt after all this suffering that he loves us. I saw the movie and could not finish watching because nobody should go through that suffering and humiliation.
