"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?) No, Jesus knew what would happen even before he came down from heaven to show the way. He was doing the will of His Father in heaven getting the attention of the Jewish leaders of His time, but they were blinded by their own lust for blood because they could not believe that Jesus was the Son of God; because He did not match what the prophets of the Old Testament was descriping at least in their eyes.
