I believe all these things help us if we look carefully. They help us to become more humble and cognizant of the fact that we need to put GOD first in our lives, and continue to pray and develop further relationship with him through JESUS. Once this can be achieved, then it is my belief that we open ourselves up for blessings beyond imagination.

One can also open himself to spiritual blessings by helping those who are less fortunate. If you experience these things first hand, then you have experience to draw from, which could provide a sense of comfort, relief to others that are undergoing the same issues/problems.
