How is Jesus` way fresh or new compared to old religious practice or tradition? Jesus' way was new because His disciples would not fast as long as He was with them. Blessings.

I was raised Jewish and still do not really understand this distinction. Christianity looks very much like a mixing of the old with the new. Isnt the New Testament supposed to be a fulfillment of the Old? Everything in the OT is not thrown out, is it?
