What is authority, and how did Jesus demonstrate authority in his teachings and actions? When Jesus spoke, he spoke with certainty and power in his voice. His followers believed in him and knew that his words were coming from God and that what he said would be. He could clense one's soul and rid their body of the evil spirits.

What part of Jesus` "mission statement" (reading from Isaiah) has the most appeal to you? The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. What a powerful mission to give hope and faith to the poor who are having difficulties. To lift their spirits and teach them that they are all equal in God's Kingdom and they too will be blessed even though may not have the means to sacrifice as much as others. All of a little is so much greater than a little of a lot.
