Why is it Jesus speaks so strongly against divorce and remarriage? Marriage is one of the sacraments that we receive in life. It is a special bond between man and woman, which was forged by GOD. JESUS speaks so strongly because he doesn't want people to take this sacrament, institution or union lightly. Marriage requires work and a dedication by both individuals.
