We would Hear and Understand Jesus's speech (his word, his teachings) because it is the truth. We would do the desires of God as written in the bible. We would speak the truth and not be liars. How does a person abide in Jesus` word? A person can abide in Jesus' word by doing the works of God and by remaining in his word.

Why were the Jews so angry that Jesus claimed to exist before Abraham was born? They feared his word and did not trust him because they were looking at him as another man and overlooking the fact that he was of God. He was ageless and this they could not grasp.
