Eternal life is free of guilt and shame that keeps you in the past. It let's you go forward and live in the present. You still have problems but you have Jesus with you to guide your steps.

Jesus said you have to eat my flesh and drink my blood. this made many stumble because jewish law and tradition taught it was against God to do these things, but Jesus was talking about Spiritual feeding.

They also couldn't grasp that Jesus is Gods son and that he came from heaven.

It is God the father who puts it in our heart to come to Jesus.
