Eternal Life!  For believers, eternal life is now and once our earthly bodies are put to rest.  Accepting Jesus as our Savior and asking Him to live inside us guarantees that we will reside in Heaven once we die.  In Heaven with God the Father and His Son, and the Holy Spirit, we will live forever.   But eternal life can be experienced now, as we live on earth.  Jesus is eternal.  If He resides in us, and us in Him then we have the eternal with us right now, "...And be sure of this:  I am with you always, even to the end of the age", Matthew 28:20.  "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me," Galatians 2:20.  Believers in Christ live right now in eternity on earth and with Christ.

Ordinary life can mean a person who is saved but holds an unbelief in the benefits that came with salvation.  For example, as the summary states, Jesus did what He saw the Father doing.  Jesus did wonders, including raising the dead.  The Father gave Jesus the authority to exercise power over the dominion.  Jesus gave to believers the same authority.  When He went to the cross, Jesus bore our grief that we may have joy on earth:

  • Jesus was punished that we might be forgiven
  • Jesus was wounded that we might be healed
  • Jesus was made sin with our sinfulness, that we might be made righteous with His righteousness
  • Jesus tasted death for us that we might share His life
  • Jesus was made a curse that we might receive the blessing
  • Jesus endured our poverty that we might share His abundance
  • Jesus bore our shame that we might share His glory
  • Jesus endured my rejection that I might have His acceptance with the Father
  • He was cut off that we might be joined to the Lord
  • Our Old Man was put to death in Him that the New Man might come to life in us

  • Believers in Christ whom were given the grace to perform works as did our Savior, but judge (decide) these works not of our authority, live an ordinary life.
