Jesus wants us to ask Him to lead the way of our lives.  He is willing to reveal to us what He wills for us.  No matter our short comings, Jesus is there for us.  His Spirit lives in those who seek Him out.  God has given each of us gifts to further the Kingdom of Heaven.  These gifts will manifest with the help of our advocate, the Holy Spirit. Jesus, our personal savior, is the son of a long suffering, gift giving, forever and always truthful God. And because of Jesus' obedience, and as our Savior, we, too, are children of God. That which is least, is more.  Jesus knew all about the widow and her poverty.  She had very little to live on, yet her heart was lead to leave a gift of two small brass coins.  The depth of her faith was illustrated by the gift.  Jesus used this as an opportunity to teach the disciples about faith, love, and giving. God's children are separated from the world as long as we stay in the Spirit.

Don’t let your heart be deceived.  Although Peter was confident that he would never deny Christ, Jesus showed Peter how our hearts can be deceiving. I believe Jesus used this as a teaching opportunity to show that we will be tested in our faith and to always look to God for strength. Worldly appearances, approval, and its apathy concerning the Truth eventually will lead to destruction.  Jesus has compassion for the least of us.  Our bodies house the Holy Spirit, our spirit, and soul.  So what we allow in our bodies should be pure because there resides holiness.  The priests, scribes, and elders spoken of in this lesson did not answer Jesus because they did not know truth.  Their hearts were hardened.  He is the chief cornerstone that will ultimately destroy those in unrighteous religious authority.  God's children must obey Him which includes obeying those He gave authority to prevent disorder in society.  However, God's children are always to follow His authority when the government delivers ungodly dictates. The Sadducees refrained from asking Jesus more questions because Jesus answered their question, but He also answered what the Sadducees really wanted to ask.  Greed was the emotion used to conspire against Jesus.  This is an example of how an impure heart leads to the act of sin; sin leads to death. God's will must be fulfilled.

Jesus was sinless.  God needed to sacrifice a blameless man for His plan to work. The blood of the Lamb had to be pure. Jesus provided a way out; faith through grace, belief in the Lord and repentance leads to salvation. Jesus sacrificed His blood on the altar to cleanse away our sins, and now we can go to the Father.  Our sins are covered in the blood of Christ.  The veil was torn in two to signal the end of the old system and the creation of the new system, a new covenant.  No longer are we separated from God.

The birth of Christ reads to be synonymous with His death; His birth was His death and His death was His birth. The fulfillment of prophecy is important because they were proof that God is divine and His word is truth, Jesus.  And just as the prophecies of from ages ago were fulfilled, the prophecies of our time will also be fulfilled. The biggest gift of prayer is the development of an ongoing, intimate relationship with Christ, and deepening my faith to trust God's will. Prayer allows me to connect with the Holy Spirit. Jesus does good to even unto His enemy. Mocking serves to cast doubt to the believer. Christians can experience mocking from without and within, self doubt. But we must ask God to remove the doubts and keep our faith supplied.
