I would feel great joy knowing that is what is waiting for me as long as I continue to live by the commandments of God. There would also be a certain amount of fear knowing that Jesus is now in Heaven and the responsibility lies with those of remaining on earth to continue carrying the message of the Lord throughout all the lands.

Why do you suppose they were filled with fear then comforted by Jesus eating food? There is always fear of the unknown and I am sure that when they knew Jesus was still with them to help spread the word, there was a lot of relief. They knew the spirit of God would be with them forever as had been promised.
