27012 entries for this category: I can understand the disciples' doubt and fear when they saw Jesus after he had been crucified, but would be very happy knowing that Jesus' is alive. Why do you suppose they were filled with fear then comforted by Jesus eating food? I believe the disciples were filled with fear initially because they had just seen that Jesus was crucified. When they saw him after his death, they thought they had seen a ghost. However, they were comforted after eating with Jesus because they knew that he was not a ghost and his word that he would be raised on the third day, was fulfilled.

Jesus said "I send forth the promise of my Father on you", what was the promise? The promise of our Father is the promise of salvation.....which is the reason Jesus was crucified and became the sacrificial lamb.
