To be loved by God we have to believe in Jesus. If we do not acknowledge that Jesus is the only avenue by which we can receive God's love we will never obtain it. The requirement for God's everlasting, eternal love is to follow and keep Jesus's commandments, to love Jesus with our whole being, body, mind, soul, heart, spirit, everything, and to accept Jesus' love. He was obedient to His Father and came down to earth in human form just because of His love for us. Because of Love Jesus endured the envy, hatred, scorn, the brutal way He was treated when they tried and crucified Him, as if He was a criminal, just for us. It must have hurt God heart-wrenchingly to watch what Jesus endured just for love of you and me. It is only fare that we who are unable to repay Him for the debt we owe to commit ourselves to His words and keep them forever until Jesus' return when the elect will be reunited with Him in paradise. It is such a small price to pay, we must endeavour to do this minute task to try and repay our debt in our own small way, I know we would love to do much more but we cannot fathom the cost much less to obtain the where-with-all to give back to God, so we all just have to do this very small deed to acknowkledge that we are nothing without Jesus, we love Him and we need Him to intercede for us to obtain God's love as we do our part to receive it.
