Why did Jesus instruct his followers to react passively when attacked?
Jeus knew that it would not be easy for them.  They would be "objects of hatred by all nations" on account of his name.  Satan would try to divide and corrupt them.  As a result of apostasy, imitation christians would spring up and also because of the increasing  of lawlessness on the earth.

Why is it evil to use oaths?

An oath is an invocation to God to witness the truth of a statement. It may be express and direct, as when one swear by God himself; To swear without a sufficient reason, being an idle use of God's name, is a venial sin, for what we affirm should be in conformity with the truth.

Our affirmation must be truthful, and in a promissory oath we must have the intention of doing what are promising.  To swear falsely constitutes the sin of perjury for it is an insult to the divine truth to call God in witness to a lie.

Why is it Jesus speaks so strongly against divorce and remarriage?

When the divine origin of marriage is recognized, and the divine pinciples controlling it are obeyed, marriage is indeed a blessing; but when these are disregarded, untold evils are sure to follow.  That which, rightly used, is of greatest blessing, when abused becomes the greatest curse. That's why Jesus spoke strongly against divorce and remarriage.

The marriage relationship is frequently used in the scriptures as a symbol of the relationship existing between God and His people.  Therefore, what God hath joined together, let no man put asunder also let marriage be held in honor among all.

Jesus specifically cites Genesis 2:24 in relation to his condemnation of divorce.  From the very beginning of man, marriage was meant to be permanent, with the two becoming one flesh.  Christ did not only expressly condemned divorce, He also said that any divorce which might possibly take place had no effect whatever on the bond of marriage itself.
