Why did Jesus choose to make His entry to Jerusalem in a humble manner, riding a donkey?

Mr. Richard Duran is right Jesus could have rode at any animal, but Jesus was to fulfill every bit of the scripture that ws written about him.

Since Luke was researching for a high government official, "Most Excellent Theophilis", how many eyewitnesses (and who) do you think Luke interviewed before writing his report?

Definately, he must have interviewed the disciples of Jesus. He must have also geathered eye witnesses and interviewed many people whom he came accross while on various trips with Simon Peter.
