Why does Jesus encourage focusing on the daily task at hand and discourage predicting the future?

Jesus discourage predicting the future because as He had said, no one knows the future, the Second Coming, except God the Father. We must be prepared all the time when Jesus comes. Being prepared means we must be sure that we deserved to go with Him in heaven and we can only do that if we follow and obey all His commandments, i.e., loving Him, and loving our neighbors as well.

Why does Jesus encourage focusing on the daily task at hand and discourage predicting the future?

Since we have no way of knowing when the Second Coming is going to be, it is prudent to live one day at a time, obeying the word of God and living a righteous life according to the Scriptures. Predicting the future is unproductive because only God knows what lies in the future; whereas focusing on the Now, the Present, and living it according to the will of God makes us better prepared for His coming.

Jesus claimed that after a future period of destruction and distress, he (The Son of Man) will come back to earth with great power and glory. What did Jesus say he would do at that time?

Jesus will send out His angels and will gather together His chosen ones from the four winds, from the ends of the earth and the ends of the sky. In my understanding, it means that when Jesus comes, all faithful followers of Jesus will be gathered together and will be with Him in heaven.
